Exploring Memphis: Colorful Midtown Mural Couples Session
When my mom was writing an article about murals in Memphis (which you can read here), she asked me to grab a few photos of some of the more notable Midtown public art pieces. If you’ve ever driven down Cooper, you’ll have seen all three of the spots I visited with my friends Emily and Travis to get a range of the colors and styles that make this part of town so vibrant.
Around the corner from the Midtown Urban Outfitters is this huge “I love Memphis” mural, which definitely had a grip on Instagram and Memphis blogger’s pages in the 2010s. For good reason, though, it’s a fun backdrop!
This second mural is in the back parking lot of Eclectic Eye, a little tucked away, but worth looking for!
The last mural we visited was the most colorful, and right off the intersection of Cooper and Madison. If you’re looking for engagement photo ideas that feel very Memphis, Overton Square is always a great choice for vibrant colors and walkability.
